Ch-ch-ch-CHANGES!

There are a lot of changes that have happened in the last little while! We are now back in Idaho Falls again and Dave is officially done with school! It is still pretty crazy to think that we are totally done with the college thing! I think it will set in more once he gets a job. About a week before we moved, we went to one of our Salt Lake Bees baseball game, and they were having a Humane Society day. We fell in love with one little dog named Sadie. Luckily, the new apartments that we just moved into allows small pets! So we adopted her! She is a Chihuahua/Doberman Pincher mix. She is pretty darn cute! We are putting her in some training classes that start next week because she has been barking at everyone but Dave and I, and she has had a few house accidents. She is mostly potty trained though, so that is nice. We moved back to Idaho on Friday, July 2nd. Dave got done with school at 1:00 and we were on the road by 2:15! We were ready to get out of Salt Lake! On the 3rd, we went to the Parade with Sadie and Payton. It was pretty fun. We had a lot of people that would just compliment us on Sadie. We both felt like proud parents. We got to start moving into our apartment on the 3rd so Dave stayed there while I went to the fireworks with my dad and Payton. They were really fun! My favorite part was when they played a song from GLEE! It was the highlight of my night! I am back at Seagull Book here in Idaho Falls and I am loving it! I enjoyed most of the people that I worked with in Salt Lake, but Idaho Falls is definatley my home. I started researching salons in Idaho Falls yesterday online to get an idea of the salons that I for sure wouldn't want to look into, and next week I will probably start going into them and see how I like each of them! I start the Idaho Falls Farmer's Market this Saturday. I am really excited, but I have a feeling that I will be a little unorganized because my stuff is in a few different places from all of the moving that we have done, but I guess it will get better throughout the summer. Come and visit me! I will be there from 10-1 or 2. I don't remember when it ends. It is in the mall parking lot right in front of Best Buy. Thanks for loving us and supporting us while we were living in Salt Lake, it was rough, but we are done! Yay!

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Happy Father's Day!
I have the greatest dad! I have been able to do such fun things with him throughout my life. He has taken me on countless vacations and has always been an amazing support through everything for me.
He has always been a protector, worthy Priesthood holder, an excellent husband to my mom, and a good friend.

He got a new job a few years ago, and while I miss him and worry about him traveling as much as he does, I love that he is able to go see cool things around the country.

He is a really good sport. He even dressed up as Uncle Rico for Halloween one year.

He is really good at sports, and although he can be playfully competitive sometimes, he has never pressured us to play sports, and has been so supportive if we stop playing or get worn out.

He has always been my bud when we go on rollercoasters. Some of my greatest memories with my dad are when we laugh our heads off on a rollercoaster and then talk about what one is our favorite.

I am so blessed to have such a loving dad. I have had great father figures in my life. I have amazing grandfathers as well. I miss my grandpas that have passed on, but I am thankful for the time that I have been able to spend with them. I know that Dave will be such a good father someday. It all starts with being a good husband and he definately is that! He has had a good example for fatherhood through his dad. His dad was a really great man. I love my dad! Happy Father's Day!

I am 22!

I can't believe how old I am getting! My birthday was on Sunday and it was SO much fun! Of course, I had to leave my camera at my parent's house, so you will just have to use your imagination! I will add some pictures later.

Dave and I drove to Idaho on Friday after I got off of work. We got to hang out with my mom and Payton that evening and just relaxed. On Saturday, Payton was supposed to have a baseball tournament in Logan, but it got canceled so he got to stay home and hang out with us! My dad and Carson were in Boise for a baseball tournament there, but they came home Saturday night and were able to play with us as well! Dave and I went to the Karate Kid with Payton and it was a lot of fun. It wasn't as great as the first movie, but it was pretty good. That evening, we played games with Carson, Payton, and my mom. It was a blast!

Sunday, we took the day off and just relaxed until we had a little party for my birthday! Jason and Kat (Dave's cousins) came, Maryalice and her boyfriend Greg came (It was SO much fun to get caught up with her again!), and my grandma Hill! I of course got SO spoiled as always. I got a new suitcase, a notepad that I can hook up to my computer, the Eclipse soundtrack, the new Glee CD, and some Audrey Hepburn movies! It was so much fun!

We drove back to Utah on Sunday evening and we brought my grandma Hill with us to drop her off to go on a vacation. It was fun to have her company on the drive back. She is such a fun, cute lady.

Yesterday, I got to go shopping with some of my gift cards and it was way too much fun! I went to Old Navy and got the BEST deals! I spent $20 and got 2 super cute ruffle, striped tank tops, one in pink and white, and the other in blue and white. I got some khakis that I am in LOVE with. I already have some just like them in a different color. I got a super fun hot pink T Shirt (this was only .97!). And a Zebra beach towel that I am using for a super fun project I will post later. Just to recap that is 2 tanks, khakis, t shirt, and a beach towel for $20! It was a great way to spend my gift card!

I loved my birthday! So much fun! Thanks for all of the birthday wishes!

Has it really been 2 YEARS?!?!

2 years ago today I married my best friend in the Idaho Falls temple. As in love as we look in this picture, are are much more so today.
In the last 2 years, we have experienced so much together.
  • We developed our own little "home" in Rexburg while Dave was a student there, and I was working at Radiance Salon
  • We went to NYC with my family and saw all sorts of really amazing things!
  • We helped eachother through the struggles of losing 2 grandpas and Dave's father in a matter of 3 months
  • We have celebrated 2 Christmas seasons together that have both been really fun!
  • We have seen many of our friends get married and even start their families!
  • We went to Washington DC for 2 weeks and survived!
  • Dave was in the bishopric of a student single's ward
  • I started my own company, Artistry By McKenzie*G
  • We were a traveling rap show, Dave being Danger Mouth, and me as the merch girl
  • Dave graduated from BYU-I
  • We moved to SLC for Dave's student teaching
  • We have laughed every day, and found more things to like about each other!

I have really loved being married, and I can't wait to see what this next year of marriage brings! I love you Dave!

The haps lately...

So things have gotten better here in the land of Zion. Dave and I purchased season tickets for the Salt Lake Bee's games. That has been a lot of fun! They haven't won a single game that we have been to yet, but maybe one of these days they will! It is Dave's personal goal to go to at least 17 games this summer. At this rate, I really think he might just do it! I haven't gotten lost for a while now. I use Map Quest a lot! It is nice though. I did take myself on a date yesterday that was a lot of fun. I blogged about it on my other blog here. If you are in Salt Lake, come visit us! I get to see my mom today! I am so excited to see her! This time is tied for the longest it has ever been not seeing each other! It has been 2 weeks! I am really excited, and getting more and more used to Utah living. Hopefully I will catch on before we move again!

At our 2nd Bees game!

At a Jazz game!

We tried out In-n-Out!

Here in SLC

We are finally settled in SLC! It has been a long process, but things are finally looking up. Dave has been student teaching for 3 days now. It has been a total culture shock for him though. The first 2 days he has had 2 students expelled for violence and sexual harassment! This is a 5th grade class we are talking about here! He just keeps telling me that he definately isn't in an Idaho farm community anymore! I started working at the Redwood Road Seagull Book yesterday. I really like the people that I work with, it just don't feel like I really fit in. I am sure that I am going to start feeling a little more at home as time goes on, but being there really made me pretty homesick yesterday. Today is my day off and so far I am really enjoying it! I am creating hair accessories and will try out the gym here. Tonight Dave and I are going to the Jazz game. That should be a lot of fun! If anyone is in SLC I would love to meet up! Hopefully Dave will come home today and have his full class for the first time!
