Busy Busy!!!

I haven't been able to post on here lately! I need to do some major updating! I have been really busy lately at the salon, and I got a job working with Dave at Burton Elementary twice a week! It has been really fun to see Dave in his "teacher mode". I have also had an overwhelming excitement for my Artistry by McKenzie*G line! I recently made 12 accessories for my friends wedding party and her VEIL!!! No pressure! They all turned out very well!

I have also been taking a lot of special orders and it has been keeping me quite busy! I LOVE doing it though! I am also unveiling a whole new line of accessories at a "Decked Out" party on April 18th. If you would like to come ask me for the details! Life has been so fun lately! Dave finishes up his semester next week and can't even wait!

We also just found out that Dave will be doing his student teaching next summer in...... (drum roll please).......

LAS VEGAS!!!

What the heck?!?! Not exactly what we were expecting! But we will take what we can get! Heavenly Father seems to throw us curve balls every once and a while, just when we seem to have things figured out! I haven't exactly decided how I feel about it quite yet. I am excited, but a little nervous. I don't exactly do too well in the Idaho summer heat as it is! So we will see! I am sure that there will be plenty of great things that will come of it! But we shall see what lies ahead!!!

ALSO!!! I just got a new calling in church! I was just made the Relief Society greeter about 3 weeks ago, but I guess I did such a FANTASTIC job at that, that they wanted to promote me or something! Now I am........ (another drum roll for me please!)........

Relief Society Secretary!

Just when I thought my life couldn't get any busier! I got the busiest calling I have ever had! There is a lot more to being the secretary than I thought! It should be a really crazy calling, but I am excited about it. For those of you that know me pretty well, you know that I am a little (or maybe a lot) OCD about organization. I am excited about this calling because that what my entire calling is all about! I just get to organize, organize, ORGANIZE! Wish me luck!!!

A Friend's Essay About Me: The Most Humbling Act of Kindness I Have Ever Experienced

The story of a 19 year old kid stealing and drinking by himself seems like one that has become all too common. You might think that 2 years later, this 19 year old kid would be homeless, a drug addict, still stealing, or worse. You’d be wrong. David Guymon is married, working with special needs adults, and his goal in life is to be a role model to those around him, a father, and a teacher. Always looking forward to the future, and trying to better his life every day. This, above all else, is the reason that I have chose to write about David for this assignment. 
I first met David when he was a musician, playing shows in the Salt Lake and Provo areas. After we became closer friends, I got to know David, not just as a musician, but as a person. I was immediately drawn to his positive personality and the influence he exerted. When I met David, I was going through a rough period in my life, and a positive influence was what I was looking for. I found it in David. 
David’s philosophy on life is that you need to work so that you can give everything away. I never could have said it so eloquently. This is a great philosophy to have on life, especially pertaining to a person’s self-esteem and self confidence. The most important part of self confidence is having a good sense of self, and being able to help people have the same thing. The whole unit, we have focused on building up yourself, so that you can have a self confidence that won’t crumble at the first sign of trouble, and I believe the best way to do that is with a positive attitude about yourself, and helping other people. David is my role model because he does these things in his everyday life. 
David is, and probably always will be, a very important part of my life. He lives his life for other, and inspires me, and those around him, to do the same. Having a relationship with David is an important part of my life because he has taught me how to be positive, even when everything seems difficult. He has taken the worst parts of his life, like his father passing away and his past habits, without trying to gloss them over and make them mean less than they do, and turned them into positive experiences that have made him into a better person, and that is something that I now value in my friendships more than I ever have. 

Our Family Mission Statement

Our family mission statement is to create a cohesive, loving family unit within a supportive, welcoming home. As a family, we will achieve this goal through living the principles of empathic communication, patience rooted in understanding, limitless cooperation, compassionate service for others, shared experiences and unconditional love. Core to these principles is the Golden Rule—treat others as you would want to be treated. As we live by the precepts of this mission statement we will be better able to help one another to live eternal Gospel principles, to build up Zion on this earth and ultimately, to return, as a family, to live again with our Heavenly Father.

Valentine's Weekend

Dave and I went to Salt Lake for the weekend of Valentine's Day. It was a lot of fun to get to see his mom again. She missed us a lot. We got to see three sets of cousins as well. We had a pretty busy weekend! For Valentine's Day, we went ice skating at the Gallivan Center.

It was so much fun! Both of us were a little worried how we would do, but neither of us fell all night long! We were in a hockey slap shot contest and took 2nd and 3rd place in it. There were 12 people that competed. We had to hit the puck through a cut out of Cupid's legs! It was only about a 6 inch cut out and Dave and I were the only ones that even hit the cupid at all except for the one girl that actually got it through the center.

We also won a game of Disney Scene It while we were ice skating. Dave won a Disney on Ice water bottle for me! How romantic!It was really neat to go to the cemetery while we were there as well. Dave's dad's headstone looks really good. We both miss him a lot, but we have both grown tremendously in the past 4 1/2 months. Dave found a new favorite place to eat. Wild Wings n' Things! Lately I have been accusing him of having the cravings of a pregnant woman. Everyday he wants buffalo wings, and then after he has them, they never satisfy the craving! But he found his new favorite wings!

Dave's Suprise Party!
